Shock Wave-Boundary Layer Interaction Research

During Summer 2025, I participated in a 10-week NSF REU program at the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion through the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. I conducted research in the Computational Aero-Sciences Lab (CASL) under Dr. S. Unnikrishnan, where I investigated shock-wave boundary layer interactions on slender bodies at varying Mach numbers and wedge angles to assess aerodynamic loading on high-speed aircraft and munitions. Through this experience, I built foundational knowledge in fluid dynamics and computational analysis. This project culminated with a symposium and poster presentation, where I shared my findings with engineering professors and graduate researchers. I will be continuing this research during the academic year. See my poster below.
